CULTURAL, EDUCATIONAL, AND PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT OF BAIT AL ARAB

A BRIEF INTRODUCTION

The Board of Trustees of the Arabian Horse Center, Bait Al Arab Kuwait State Stud has established a Cultural, Educational, and Public Relations Department that will cover a variety of activities with one aim: promoting the Arabian horse and knowledge about the Arabian horse and the culture that created and surrounds it. Bait Al Arab strives to keep in touch with Arabian horse breeders on a national and international level, maintaining a database and a website that is regularly updated to publish the latest news on all activities relating to the Arabian horse at Bait Al Arab and in Kuwait. The quarterly Arabian Horse Letter also reports on the activities of Bait Al Arab and other Kuwaiti breeders, as well as publishing educational articles on the Arabian Horse and its history, health care, and stud management.

Throughout the year Bait Al Arab offers a program of exhibitions, seminars, and lectures by international authorities, providing practical education on the history of the Arabian horse, horse management, judging, handling, and veterinary medicine. In addition, stud visit tours are offered and art and photography contests are held. Selected national and international shows are sponsored, and a fund is maintained for Arabian horse research. A library, including the Gleannloch collection, is maintained and steadily expanded, including sponsorship and support of new books. The Gleannloch show trophies, which were donated to Bait Al Arab by the Marshall family, are displayed in connection with the Gleannloch library.

FUTURE PLANS:

Bait Al Arab plans to maintain a cooperation program for culture, education, and scientific research with state studs that run breeding programs for Straight Egyptian Arabian horses, including El Zahraa in Egypt, Marbach in Germany, Al Shaqab in Qatar, and the Dirab Arabian Horse Center in Saudi Arabia.

A photo and video archive will be maintained both on the horses of Bait Al Arab and private breeders in Kuwait, other state studs, and private studs throughout the world.

The activities at Bait Al Arab are published on the website, which is updated on a regular basis. Upcoming events will be announced not only on the website but also on social media such as Instagram and Facebook.
